Advanced Flow Engineering, Inc (aFe POWER) is currently looking for an experienced Manager - Filter Production to oversee personnel, production builds and packaging processes in our Filter Production Department. This position will report to the Vice President - Production and will work within established production schedules to ensure correct staffing levels are in place to meet production goals and objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Supervises lead and production personnel on two shifts in the manufacturing, processing and production of all aFe lines of automotive performance filters, per established schedules.
Oversees job status, production deadlines, efficiency, quality and workflow in assigned department.
Ensures daily production and quality goals are met and works closely with VP to assess schedules.
Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment in assigned department.
Monitors and ensures that Filter Department equipment is maintained to meet operational goals and objectives.
Reviews and assesses inventory reports and build schedules to minimize back-orders.
Ensures and documents job training for new crew members and ensures efficiencies through cross-training and job rotation.
Promotes employee involvement in problem solving and participation in operational teams.
Maintains a culture of safety awareness and ensures all crew members are wearing appropriate PPE, follow established safety procedures and are contributing to a safe work environment.
Coaches and develops crew members; promptly addresses attendance or performance issues and partners with HR on staff management, as needed; enforces work policies and work rules, assesses employee performance, approves overtime and vacation per established policy, interviews candidates and approves for hire.
Identifies and develops team leaders capable of managing work schedules and team members in their assigned work units.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a coaching mindset.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; bilingual Spanish highly preferred.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with ERP sytems for manufacturing; MS NAV, a plus.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel) and MS Office.
3 - 5 years progressive supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
1-3 years supervisory/management experience
